In the days of Adam and Eve, education was family-centered, where the father served as the primary teacher, passing down spiritual, moral, and practical knowledge. The family was the core institution of learning, with fathers instructing their children in the ways of God, the laws of nature, and righteous living. This type of education focused on personal virtue, the cultivation of righteousness, and the transmission of wisdom from one generation to the next—preparing individuals for both earthly life and eternity.

Many families are struggling, often unaware that the type of education they use could be part of the problem. There are numerous educational models from which to choose or create. However, many of us are trying to get our families back to Joseph Smith, the messenger and Revealer of Christ. To teach as Joseph taught, we need to see what “education” is to God, not what man defines it as. This course will attempt to show the principles of a celestial education—focusing on the restored teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith—for the family and for Zion.
