Building a Christ- Centered Home

Hollywood’s Most Despised Villain (Audio)

There is a deliberate war on the role of a father, and Hollywood knows it.

The very purpose of the Book of Mormon is to help us understand the Bible’s father to son covenant, see how it continues in the Book of Mormon and through to our day. Not only do we need to understand our roots (the fathers before us) but our responsibility to keep the branches (posterity, future sons/rulers) going. In other scriptures this is called the “new and everlasting covenant.” It began with Adam and continues, unbroken, to this day.

If this is true when Elijah spoke to Joseph Smith saying: And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers” then no wonder the role of men and masculinity is at battle. If we are commanded to build homes with Christ as the center, we will need to teach our children better to honor their father, as he submits to his father or Jesus Christ, himself.

This message examines biblical definitions of aesthetics, holiness, and antithesis as each concept pertains to film. Also examined is Hollywood’s vision for aesthetic. Speaker Geoff Botkin relates the little-known history of the Left’s deliberate effort (beginning in 1923) to “impoverish the aesthetics” of Hollywood and to thereby seize “cultural hegemony.” He explains the corrupt soul of an industry that went from Shirley Temple to Madonna in less than two generations, and how the Christian patriarch became an object of deliberate contempt.
