Building a Christ- Centered Home

Time Changer (Movie)

“Satan isn’t against good morals, he is against Jesus Christ.”

The year is 1890 and Bible professor Russell Carlisle (D. David Morin) has written a new manuscript “The Changing Times.” His book is about to receive a unanimous endorsement from the board members of the Grace Bible Seminary until his colleague Dr. Norris Anderson (Gavin MacLeod) raises an objection. Dr. Anderson believes that what Carlisle has written could greatly affect the future of coming generations. Using a secret time machine, Anderson sends Carlisle over 100 years into the future, offering him a glimpse of where his beliefs will lead. Rated PG (for thematic elements). Closed-captioned. The movie is a good reminder that we can not achieve heaven by just trying to be good people.  Our homes can not just be centered on good morals. That this is a war on Holiness. Satan is relentless. He charges with force and fury and has no care for the well-being of the one he seeks to possess and destroy. With equal intensity, we must prepare to defend His name and His ways.

Subtle

Time Changer is full of many subtle influences that lead us to believe a certain way. We need to be looking at Time Changer/all films on a deeper level. Can you spot the counterfeits in this movie?

  • Socialism
  • Feminism
  • Communism
  • disrespect
  • immodestly
  • coarseness
  • no standard for morality
  • no (real) heroes –> a real hero is someone with character like Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith. When we start rating our heroes and films by that standard we will get closer to becoming like Jesus Christ.

Why are we surprised by suicide, depression, pornography selfishness, broken families, no vision, no interest in the scriptures or the Gospel, apathy, disrespect, no nobility, WHEN OUR CULTURE HAS BEEN TEACHING US FROM THE WOMB THE OPPOSITE?
