LITTLE LORD FAUNTLEROY

“Wisdom is to know what to do next.” — Little Lord Fauntleroy

  • Movie: Remember the Goal
  • Book: Any of Jane Austen books, which teaches nobility, refinement and correct emotions.
  • Articles: Relief Society Minutes. Joseph Smith taught the women what kind of emotions she was to have.
  • Role of a Mother FAQ
  • Real Life Application:
    • #1 Make a list of what you are not doing in your conduct according to what Joseph Smith taught to the sisters and learn why it is wrong.  You can’t help your children at all, until you have godly behaviors. If you are rebelling, they are too and the spirit is gone.
    • Fast between 24-72 hrs for more purity, integrity, discipline, and stronger submission to God
    • Have your own Reformation and a remission of sins (start on page 20).  Have the Lord burn the sins out of you, don’t just change your behaviors but repent until that sin you see makes you sick within yourself, and others. This is how you reach your children!
    • #2 Take your journal and write down a specific “way” God has inspired you to raise your children that is different from the world. Ask yourself, where did you learn this method or principle? Why do you feel this “way” is important? (If you cannot think of a specific, perhaps this is an exciting opportunity to begin searching the scriptures for God’s “parenting” methods!) What is one new improvement you can make in your home and life this week?

FREE BURMA RANGER

“Say no and let it go, or say yes and get in!”  — Karen Eubank

  • Movie:  Insanity of God
  • Audio Book: The Least of These
  • Article: Mothers, Catch the Vision of your Call
  • Mothers who Know
  • Real life Application:
    • How do you feel about the family culture you grew up in? Make a list of the aspects you appreciate and want to continue! Then draft a list of the weaknesses you do not want to pass on. Healing and breaking dangerous and unhealthy false traditions can be hard, but with the help of Jesus Christ, you can do it! Write down one specific weakness you would like to change and pray for ideas on how to implement the opposite in your home! Write down your ideas and some action items to change this month!

NIGHT CROSSING

“We’d have made it, and next time we will.” —Frank Strelzyk

  • Movie: Miracle at Midnight
  • Book: A Family Unto the Lord
  • Article:  Do We Still Believe in the Patriarchal Order?
  • Real Life Application:
    • Joseph Smith taught us that instead of talking about God, talk to God. Beyond merely reading about miracles and prophecy in the New Testament, experience them for yourself. Don’t just read about Abraham, raise a family like him. Follow the footsteps, make the sacrifices and receive sacred protection and promises for yourself and your children. Women, put your life in order and raise prophets and prophetesses. Build a nation and a family dynasty that transforms the planet, like your forefathers. We have to turn back to the Fathers to do as they did.
    • Pray this week for answers on how to start putting your home in order. With your influence, and using your conduct correctly, what can you do? Some examples: Study the Patriarchs, study their wives. Family members could get father blessings and begin being obedient and follow commands. Learn about prophets and how they ran their homes, spend time repenting where you have fallen short of course, start following the counsel of husbands and working with them in following their mission and vision.

SAKHOROV

“You can’t sit on two chairs at once.”  —Andrei Sakharov

  • Movie: The Fighting Preacher
  • Book: The Pastor’s Wife
  • Article: To the Mothers in Zion
  • Real Life Application:
  • In this module we learn we are trifling with ordinances according to Brigham Young, and rejecting prophets (true messengers). Go to the temple. IMMERSE YOURSELF, don’t just dabble with it.
  • While attending the temple, pay close attention to the role of true messengers. Listen to what we have covenanted to do with our husbands as helpmeets.
  • Repent if you have not put Jesus Christ as the authority in your home (how does he want us to eat, amuse, music, literature, parent etc). Where is the counsel in these things he gave, and what am I rejecting in having my home in order?

CASE FOR CHRIST

“In his time and in his way, God always keeps his promises.” — Allie

  • Movie: War Room
  • Book: 90 Minutes in Heaven
  • Article: Bring Him Home
  • Real Life Application:
With deep humility & meekness admit wrongs you have done to your children. Fix those things you can. Be open to where you have erred in rejecting the prophets that you are recognizing (Foods, music, amusements, worship/holidays, and being out of role!)
  • Still feeling not the humility you need? This week listen to Beware of Pride as many times as you can. Listen until you can feel & recognize your rebellion.

UNSUNG HERO

“Your family isn’t in the way, they are the way.” — James Smallbone
