IS IT A WEED, GUM, OR BOTH?

My story begins when I was about 11 years of age. One winter I struggled with pneumonia and was then hospitalized for treatment. The following year it returned leaving me again with the need for emergency care. I have always been drawn to health, herbs, and healing from foods–especially after reading the book, “Joseph Smith and Herbal Medicine“, by John Heinerman. But none of the herbs we used seemed to be working.  We called for the “Elders” (Doctrine & Covenants 42:43-44) and in a blessing, I received a strong command and If I followed it I would have a full recovery. I was told to immediately start reading the Book of…

IF I COULD CHOOSE ONE HERB

It is really hard for me at this time in life to pick my favorite herb as I am finding them all so beneficial. They have become like friends to me, but if I had to choose it probably would be Cayenne Pepper. Not for its taste of course, but for its wonderful healing ingredients and how it blessed my life. In June of 2020 little did I know this hot fruit would save my life. For the last year and a half, I have had severe women’s health issues dealing with menopause. It first hit a few months after moving when life came to a halt with a cycle…

    USING TEAS TO HEAL WITH!

OLD FASHION REMEDIES Our family is not one that has ever really used over-the-counter medications, instead, we have always looked for a remedy from our own home. This year we were introduced to herbal teas–growing and using plants straight from our own backyard! We grew yarrow, comfrey, mints, chamomile, feverfew, catnip, borage, and calendula all to be used. Mallow and dandelions were already growing everywhere in the yard which turned out to be the plant we needed most this year. We also dried all types of berry leaves and even leaves from our apricot and cherry tree. These teas have given us so much relief from asthma, allergies, flu, and…

    SQUAW BUSH BERRIES

In the year 2020, I had a period of time when those simple things we take for granted were now limited. Tasks were impossible to do, stairs took forever to climb, and conversations were hard as I was out of breath within minutes. Nothing I used to heal with was working in gaining my strength back. I learned that those going through menopause often suffer from severe Anemia which is from reduced and compromised red blood cells that cannot carry the required levels of oxygen to the organs. So basically you can say this was my life and I was suffering. REMEDY TO THE RESCUE At the foot of the…
