IF YOU ARE ISRAEL….THEN SING!
One of the traits of an Israelite you will find as you study the Bible and history was singing. The Lord had asked them to worship Him in this manner that let people know He was the holy God, and that they could not approach Him just in any way that they pleased. We too must offer up to God only what He commanded. This was done all through the ages as God’s families would gather together to sing Psalms and praise his name.
In the last few years, we have decided to let go of our “lack of” musical talents that have kept us from singing besides at church or an occasional hymn here or there and to really start singing. At first, it was extremely awkward, but in the last few years, it has become a favorite activity we now do. At the beginning, I told my family repeatedly that Israel sings and if we are Israel too…we now sing! This has become one of my favorite family things to do together.
We have compiled some of our favorite family songs that we use when we gather for Sundays, Holidays, Feasts, or other family times.
